SMART PHONES ARE THE NEW CARS

Reinventing the wheel is an initiative that many engineers, technologists, designers and artists take upon themselves when setting out to change the game. While it is great to push ourselves, aim high, and do the unthinkable, it’s also important to consider the current times and available technology.

Today, we are walking around with smart devices in our pockets that one could argue control our lives. Weather forecasts, cameras, radio, open windows of apps, gears, settings, hours of use, internet traffic, and the best part is we’re using a steering wheel (smart phone) to drive these interactions. Our ability to navigate to and from through these devices in an instant, traveling the world of live feeds, news and imagery has become normal. Interestingly enough, it seems to be overlooked that we’re already behind a new wheel.
